Certainly our most tranquil, scenic and serene property, Vineyard View offers an extraordinary experience, aptly described as "There is magic on this mountain, we leave feeling full of contentment and calm".   It is simply an ideal place for anyone.

This handsome, historic home is ideally located just outside the town of Mariposa, near Yosemite National Park. Set in the center of eight magnificent acres amongst majestic Oaks, Cedars and Pines with spectacular distant views of a mountain vineyard and beyond, this comfortable and cozy home is a delightful retreat for couples, families, and friends traveling together who want to be close to Yosemite,  yet still enjoy the luxury, comfort, and convenience of their own private vacation home.

There are three plus bedrooms, two full bathrooms (both accessible from common space so no going thru someone's bedroom to get there) a big, beautiful kitchen with all new appliances and cabinetry, new tile countertops, extensive cooking utensils and a delightful dining area that comfortably seats up to eight. The open floor plan allows for comfortable, un-crowded companionship and the views from this room are amazing.

Vineyard View was built in the post Gold Rush era and has been tastefully renovated with impeccable style and modern amenities while retaining its original architectural allure. "How can you stand not living here?" (A recent guest asked upon arrival)

The Master bedroom has a King bed, a sink, sitting area and large windows that treat guests to the magnificent views of the valley and grounds. The second bedroom also has a King bed, private reading area and large windows with delightful views, these two rooms share the lovely hall bath that is all new, complete with a claw foot tub below a picture window with private view, corner shower and mosaic tile floor.

There is an Oak, Queen size Wall-Bed (new, Sealy mattress, VERY comfortable) in the living room, guests staying here have a door between this room and the hallway that offers total privacy from the other two bedrooms when closed. An added benefit of the wall-bed is its romantic proximity to the lovely, stone fireplace and floor to ceiling windows with incredible, distant views. There is also a quaintly done bedroom in the large utility room where guests using the Wall-Bed can enjoy a private place for their personal belongings as well as their own lovely, full bath and a twin size bed for quiet afternoon naps.

Guests here can enjoy a day in nearby Yosemite and return home to soak in the spa, or sit back on the Verandah in the comfortable patio furniture and enjoy the sun setting over the peaceful garden and VIEW. You can also enjoy a leisurely stroll through the trees or down the storybook lane to the tasting room of the award winning, Butterfly Creek winery, the owners, Bob and Darlene are the friendliest folks and children are welcome to come along.

"This place is perfect, what a thing of beauty and comfort you have created!! Thanks so much"

We make a real effort here to cater to families traveling with children but at the same time, the home is appointed and decorated in a way that’s particularly attractive and accommodating to our adult guests, as well. You’ll find an abundance of comforts, conveniences and useful items not found in many other vacation rentals and will instantly recognize, upon your arrival, why our return guest rate is so high.

We offer the use of a wide variety of baby/child items such as highchair, booster seat, crib/Porta-crib as well as lots of books & toys. The home is exceptionally child friendly and thoughtfully baby-proofed, there is play yard equipment, a sand box, cars to ride in etc. for the smaller children and if you're traveling with older children who need room to explore, there are lots of trails to follow, trees to climb, Ping Pong to play, a swing for fun and more here to keep them occupied while you sit back, relax, and enjoy the views...

"We could not have asked for a better place, we felt at home & everything was so clean and nice. The kids had a lot of fun with all the toys and no words can describe that swing in the yard! We loved it, we loved it, we LOVED it."

There are several commercial rafters who provide Trips down portions of the river.

You can easily enjoy Yosemite's south entrance from here too which is up Hwy. 41, outside of Oakhurst. Traveling that direction you’ll find things to see and do such as the world famous Mariposa Grove’s Giant Sequoias, Goat Meadow Winter Sports Area where you can cross-country ski or let the kids play and sled in the snow, beautiful Bass Lake with it's water sports, beaches and restaurants and the historic Sugar Pine Railroad adventure, just to name a few.
