Without a doubt our most rustic, roomy and Yosemite-like ensemble, The Little Lodge provides a fantastic family and/or friend's venue that is great for groups and gatherings!

Distinctly unique, this Yosemite area vacation home with a Hot Tub is secretly set in the Sierra Nevada Mountains and welcomes families and friends traveling together who are hoping to find that perfect place, close to The Park with plenty of personal touches, a GREAT location, and all the comforts of home.

The Little Lodge is a Tri-Level, 2 ½ bedroom, 2 bath Cabin set on 7 secluded acres amongst majestic Cedars, Oaks, Dogwood and Pines that is conveniently close to Yosemite, Mariposa, the Merced River Canyon and the legendary Gold Rush region along historic Hwy 49.

A relaxing, rustic retreat, The Lodge is comfortably furnished, has a fully equipped Country Kitchen with modern appliances and an awesome, sunken living room with large, stone, wood-burning fireplace, 20' redwood cathedral ceilings, Piano, and vast picture windows overlooking the aged-brick patio and forest beyond.  There are a myriad of beds that can be creatively combined to create several sleeping situations to accommodate a variety of groups and gatherings, or more easily enjoyed by smaller assortment of guests.

The unique and spacious bedrooms all have wonderful views to the surrounding trees and mountains, the “Gold Rush” or master bedroom has a King size bed, a second entrance off a private patio, a sitting/reading area and a lovely maple daybed with trundle - a family of up to four can comfortably stay in this room.

The “Storybook” upstairs bedroom also has a King size bed, it's own full bath and separate Satellite receiver, TV, and DVD/VCR player. It also has vaulted ceilings with skylights, a twin size bed in the “Nook” half-bedroom and a Loveseat-sleeper making it large enough for a family of four as well. The "nook" is a small room off this bedroom, great for kids!

There is a Queen size sleeper sofa and an Aero bed in the living room for additional guests, if needed.

Awe-Inspiring architecture, beautiful furnishings and decor, quality beds and an incredible setting make this one-of-a-kind place the ideal vacation rental! Escape the hectic pace of everyday life and relax here in this magical mountain getaway.

We welcome and encourage families with young children and offer the use of a variety of baby/child items such as safety gates, highchair, booster seat, crib/porta-crib, strollers and toys, all of which can be cumbersome and difficult to travel with. The home is exceptionally child friendly and thoughtfully baby-proofed.

There is a large, open, courtyard area that is complete with Badminton and swing set, kid's playhouse & slide, a campfire pit and an abundance of old growth, fruit bearing trees. If you're traveling with older children that need room to explore, this is the place to be. There is plenty of room to roam, a separate satellite TV/DVD, hills to climb and games to play.

We invite you to come and wind your way up to this secret hideaway and enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of local wine outside on the brick patio while enjoying the sunset through the trees. Take a short hike around the property or simply relax in front of the fire, the possibilities are endless here in this exceptionally clean, easy to find, well-appointed retreat.

Location

4 hours from Los Angeles

2.5 hours from the Greater SF Bay Area/San Francisco, Oakland, Sacramento and San Jose International Airports

1 hour from Fresno International Airport

25 minutes from Yosemite National Park boundary

The Little Lodge sits just one mile off Hwy 140, (thus NO highway noise) and is adjacent to the small mountain community of Midpines. While ideally located for enjoying all that Yosemite and its surrounding areas have to offer, it is also perfect for folks keen on being able to just sit back, relax and enjoy themselves in their own peaceful, private paradise (and never encounter the tourists!).

When vacationing at The Little Lodge, you'll avoid both the crowds AND the traffic and yet Yosemite National Park is only a 28 mile drive away via the beautiful “all weather highway” which meanders through the Wild and Scenic Merced River Canyon.

The Merced River Recreation Area at Briceburg is just 8 miles away and has small, sandy beaches just perfect for picnics, wading, and summertime swimming. The river is also great for fishing, hiking, camping, wild life viewing, and for the even more adventurous, white-water rafting and kayaking. There are several commercial rafters who provide trips down portions of the river.

Guests can easily enjoy Yosemite's south entrance too which is up Hwy. 41, outside of Oakhurst. Traveling that direction you'll find things to see and do such as the world famous Mariposa Grove’s Giant Sequoias, Goat Meadow Winter Sports Area where you can let the kids play and sled in the snow, beautiful Bass Lake with it's water sports, beaches and restaurants and the historic Sugar Pine Railroad adventure, just to name a few.

Just 4 miles from the house you can enjoy downtown Mariposa's historic charm, its art galleries, restaurants, antique and gift shops as well as the California State Mining Exhibit and the Mariposa Gold Country Museum. You can also visit its history center and California's oldest operating courthouse, or Tour local wineries and taste some of the area's award-winning wines.

Located at 3000‘ in elevation, The Lodge does get an occasional yet manageable amount of snow without causing difficult access or travel. There are great hills for sledding and incredible, peek-a-boo views of the distant snow capped trees and mountains beyond.
