Conveniently located within four, to nine miles of the town of Mariposa, SierraScape’s vacation rentals are all within 30 minutes of Yosemite National Park. Although a short distance from Yosemite itself, all three homes provide a combined element of peace, privacy and affordability that accommodations inside the park cannot.

If you’re looking to be conveniently close to Yosemite but would prefer to not spend your vacation placed in an over-crowded development or conventional hotel then we may have just what you’re looking for.

While each of our places offers an entirely different style, locale, and experience and is ideally located for enjoying all that Yosemite and its surrounding areas have to offer, they’re also perfect for folks keen on being able to just sit back, relax and enjoy themselves in their own private paradise (and not be exposed to the tourists).

In fact, staying outside the park allows visitors a far more diverse vacation experience than being inside Yosemite ever can. From any one of our three cabins you can be in town within ten minutes and either choose from a wide variety of great, local restaurants or simply enjoy Mariposa's historic charm, its art galleries, antique and gift shops or the county park and playground. There are also the California State Mining and Mineral Museum and the Mariposa Gold Country Museum and History Center, (a really fun & exceptional place).

You might also like to visit California's oldest operating courthouse or tour our local wineries and taste some of the area's award-winning mountain wines, visit our local, Wednesday afternoon Farmer’s Market, catch the bi-weekly free outdoor music in the Art Park (on the lawn), take a swim in our beautiful, heated town pool or even spend some awesome board time at our new and challenging Skate Park! There’s simply more to your vacation in Mariposa, and don’t forget about the legendary Gold Rush region along Historic Highway 49, a genuine California adventure!

Additionally, all three of our homes are exceptionally outfitted with an abundance of comforts, conveniences and useful items not found in many other vacation rentals, just glance through our Guestbook to see that we do indeed go way beyond “the usual” to make certain our guests’ experience with us far exceeds their highest hopes and expectations. We are local, managing owners and live within four, to ten miles of all three homes, the personal approach and superior quality control this allows us to employ is immediately apparent upon one’s arrival. Further, we have over 40 combined years living in the Yosemite area and are nearly always available for assistance without ever being underfoot, or intrusive.

Another potential benefit to staying with us is that we welcome and encourage families with young children and offer the use of a variety of baby/child items such as gates, highchairs, booster seats, cribs & Pak-n-Plays (travel cots), strollers and lots of books and toys, all of which can be cumbersome and difficult to travel with. We understand that those who are traveling with children are often unable to spend the better part of each and every day sight-seeing but rather need to be able to spend a significant portion of their time at “home”, what better place to be than in one of our spacious, quiet and comfortable places where the children can sleep, and you can relax?

In terms of Weather, this area enjoys marked, yet relatively mild seasons but regardless, we are ideally located along the “All-Weather” highway so Yosemite is always accessible. FYI, as you may well know, Summer is by far the most popular time to visit Yosemite but keep in mind, the remaining three seasons bring far more beauty to the area and are not plagued by those summertime crowds.

And of particular importance, each home's driveway, unlike MANY in our rural mountain area, is located right off a quiet, paved country road, you won't be forced to navigate miles of rough, un-paved, muddy/dusty, or rutted dirt roads to reach these getaways (something to seriously consider when making your vacation rental choice as you'll likely be making the drive many times). All three base-rock driveways allow for virtually any vehicle (all-wheel drive is always recommended in snow) to easily access the property, year-round and the surrounding roads are quickly plowed in the case of occasional, Mariposa snowfall.
